Why should I lease a new car?

As oil baron JP Getty once stated: “If it appreciates, buy it. If it depreciates, lease it.”

With this in mind, leasing helps avoid this as your monthly payment covers the depreciation of the vehicle. If you would like the opportunity to drive a new car every two or three years and avoid MOT’s and costly repairs associated with car ownership then leasing could be the best option for you. Even better all vehicles are brand new and come with manufacturer’s warranty, road tax and breakdown cover.

At the end of the contract you just hand the vehicle back and have another leased vehicle delivered straight to your door; saving you the time and hassle of trying to sell your old car.

Are the vehicles you supply brand new?

Yes all vehicles we supply are brand new. Sometimes our best offers are on pre-registered vehicles. These are vehicles which have to be registered by a certain date but they are still brand new.

What does initial rental mean?

Initial rental means how many months upfront you pay as your deposit on your lease vehicle. So if you were looking at leasing a car for £299.99 per month and the deal you choose states that the initial rental is six months you would pay £1,799.94 as the deposit.

Do you advertise ‘no deposit’ lease deals on your website?

Yes we advertise ‘no deposit’ lease deals on our social media channels. These deals are usually apply to stock offers only and therefore options will be limited. There is no initial rental and the first payment is taken 7-10 days after delivery of the vehicle.

Can I lease a car if I have bad credit?

We have a range of lending options available for customers with bad credit. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee acceptance but if you get in touch with us, our friendly team will work with you to try to find the right vehicle and lender for you.

What's the difference between an ‘in stock’ deal and a 'factory order'?

If a deal is advertised as in stock on the drivevehicleleasing.com website this means that the vehicle is ready to go, however options on specifications and colour will be limited. A factory order means the vehicle will be built to order and therefore all colour options and specifications will be available.

What is the length of the contract?

The minimum term for our contract hire agreements is 24 months, with deals also available up to 48 months.

How many miles per year can I do in my lease car?

Your mileage will be pre-agreed when you order the car. All the deals advertised on drivevehicleleasing.com have a mileage limit. If you exceed the pre-agreed mileage, then an excess mileage charge will apply.

Can I amend the agreed mileage part-way through a contract?

Yes in most cases you will be able to amend the agreed mileage, but this will usually mean altering the monthly payments. To do this get in touch with our friendly team and they will help arrange an alternative agreement.

Is insurance included in a car lease deal?

No, insurance is not included. It is your responsibility to ensure the vehicle is properly insured the vehicle for the duration of your agreement.

Who is the registered owner and keeper of the vehicle and will this affect my ability to get insurance?

On a contract hire agreement the lender will be the registered owner and keeper of the vehicle. This is standard for leased vehicles and therefore shouldn’t affect your ability to get insurance.

Is road tax included in a car lease?

Road tax is included for the duration of the contract depending upon the type of lease agreement taken out. This will be covered in your contract.

Is servicing and maintenance included in a car lease?

We can provide deals with servicing and maintenance included which will also cover the replacement of tyres.

If the deal does not have maintenance included you will be responsible for servicing the vehicle. As the car is likely to be under warranty for the duration of the lease, any faults will be repaired under warranty and you may be able to purchase a servicing package for your local approved garage.

Is delivery and collection included in a lease deal?

Yes. All our cars are delivered free of charge to UK mainland addresses.

What if the car gets damaged during the lease?

The vehicle is your responsibility and therefore if it is damaged it must be repaired by an approved repairer prior to being returned to avoid a charge. Minor damage such as small stone chips and bumper scuffs are unlikely to be an issue but it is best to consult the Fair Wear and Tear policy to see what is and isn’t covered.

What happens if my lease car is involved in an accident or is stolen?

If your leased vehicle is stolen you must report it to the police, notify your insurance company and the finance company. If the vehicle is involved in an accident you must inform your insurance company who will then decide if it is written off. If it is a write off then you need to inform your finance company.

Can I put a private number plate on the car?

Yes, you can usually put a private number plate on a leased vehicle. Please contact our friendly team who will be able to assist you with this.

Can I terminate the agreement early?

You can usually exit a lease agreement early, but this would be dependent on the finance provider and would normally incur a charge. If you’re considering this please give our friendly team a call so they can advise you on the options available to you.
